Okay. (do I start every post that way?). I’m trying to decide if I need to publish what I produce in regards to this 365 project. Bascially, I see several “cons” to posting every day:
1. I may end up posting a lot of bad stuff, as I’m not editing my 365 creations. So, I’m concerned that my posts will be bogged down with really ugly stuff (more so than usual…don’t laugh), which would be depressing for me and anyone else looking at this blog.
2. I worry that it’s kind of annoying to post every day.
3. I don’t think that it’s good to post the same day that I make my 365 creation, as this forces me to photograph at night, which I hate.
So, I’m kind of thinking that I’ll still make something every day…but I don’t know that it’s a good idea to share that! Wouldn’t it be better to have fewer, better posts than lots of so-so posts? WHAT DO YOU THINK? Should I post what I make every day, or shall I just post every so often, when I feel that I have something reasonable to show???? Yes, I’m asking you! Tell me!
I took these photos today…I’m not posting my 365 creation, as I haven’t done it yet!!!

I think you should continue on with the 365 project. Doing one thing a day will be invaluable as you will begin to notice patterns in your work and ideas gelling that will only become apparent after you do thirty or forty things. It’s actually fascinating which inevitably lead to very powerful work because you are so talented. So keep it up!! No MORE EXCUSES!!

Comment by slightlywonky January 4, 2011 @ 4:57 pmI wanted to reply to this as soon as I read it by replying via blackberry sort of sucks, thus my delay. Definitely stick to your 365 idea. It’s a super commitment but, as Marcus mentions above, it will pay dividends in figuring out what kind of art and artist you are. I agree that you should photograph the project the next day, not day of (too much pressure to complete project, photograph it, upload and blog about it). I also firmly believe that ou can layer projects so one day you might create a little book, the next fill it with something. Or start a print, add a color, turn it into a collage, voila, 3 days worth! What’s your next class? when does it start?
Comment by growingmuses January 4, 2011 @ 10:30 pmOh, THAT’s a good idea! Continuing something from day to day. That might mean that I could “save” something, if it turns out poorly the day before…Okay, so posting the next day is good. I agree.
My classes start on the 19th & 20th! WOO HOO!
