Mini-quilt madness

So, I have MOSTLY finished the mini-quilt.  What do you think?  I think that it needs something…messy, added to it.  I haven’t decided what, though.  So, in the meantime, I’m just going to leave it.  Let me just say that finishing this little thing was a serious effort, as my sewing machine was NOT cooperating.  Luckily, when I took it to Marie’s Sewing in Woburn, they were so helpful and got me back on track.  That machine is VERY temperamental/fussy/prone to pouting and refusing to work.  Much like me!  We’re a perfect fit!  Anyway, I’d like to keep going with the quilting.  Maybe if I make enough of these, I can join them into one big quilt.   Notice that I do not yet have the energy/gumption to make a big quilt in and of itself.  Someday…

I feel like it tells a story that you’re not sharing. If you wrote up a descriptor of this quilt, what would it look like? If you feel it needs something messy, have you considered letting your preschooler have it for a few days? How about your step kids? Could you please put a link to Marie’s Sewing on this post? I’ve heard it mentioned several times and it would be helpful for future (local) readers. I know an incredibly talented quilter from our church: http://www.genomequilts.com/, let me know if you’d like to meet her.

WOW. Her quilts are gorgeous!!! Have you ever seen any of them yourself? Very impressive. Making a random pattern can often be harder than making a pattern, and she is really a virtuoso.

This mini-quilt was just a snapshot in time of where I am. All of the images are either of some of my most recent artwork, or of the natural beauty of the nearby reservoir. I already miss those vibrant leaves!

Okay, I’ll figure out how to put a link in to Marie’s sewing. Now that you have a machine, you’ll have to stop by! They also have classes… 🙂
